"Deora Bodley, a 20-year-old college junior from California, was returning from an East Coast visit with friends when she boarded United Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania. Bodley was devoted to helping kids. 'She really touched many lives,' said Kathy Almazol, principal of the school where Bodley tutored 2nd graders this summer." Deora Bodley is an example of an extraordinary person whose life tragically ended too soon. Her life and the lives of others like her cannot be taken for granted. I found out about Deora while reading through a “remembering September 11th” website when I was reflecting on the event on September 11th, 2002. When I read about her I was saddened, but I was inspired to do something. It made me realize that we have to do what we can with the time we have. As simple as that sounds, I can not explain the urgency I felt. I wanted to make sure that I did my part to continue Deora's great work. This is my contribution and my dedication to Deora and others like her to show that their lives have not been taken for granted.

"If I would just live for the moment, and make every moment count, maybe the future would work out. Maybe that moment would be a doorway to the future."
-Deora Bodley (1981-2001)
